LEGO Harry Potter could finally get a long-awaited set
Fans of LEGO Harry Potter have been calling for a brick-built Gringotts - and it could finally be on its way, according to online rumours. As shared by Promobricks amid a flurry of LEGO Harry Potter rumours, the long-awaited 76417 Gringotts Bank could finally be on its way as a direct-to-consumer model. Believed to be priced at £429.99, the potential cost of the build suggests a high piece count, meaning a lot of detail and a large size.
This has raised some concerns that Gringotts could end up being bigger than 75978 Diagon Alley, making it hard to combine the bank with the rest of the brick-built street. However, no piece count has been revealed yet and Promobricks reported that a model of a dragon, a rail cart track, and a Gringotts Bank Safe GWP could possibly be included with the set at some point. This could account for the higher price without meaning the building itself is not to scale with
75978 Diagon Alley.Promobricks seemed to believe that both sets would fit together neatly, with special mention of a detailed interior.
Considering the film and book descriptions of the inside of the bank include sweeping marble columns and glittering chandeliers, the brick-built version would have a lot to live up to. If anyone can do it, the LEGO Group can! For now, we'll need to take these rumours with a pinch of salt until we get confirmation from the LEGO Group.
