Every single LEGO set retiring in 2023 – January update
Hundreds of LEGO sets are currently due to retire by the end of 2023, including heavy hitters from Star Wars, Icons, Marvel and Ideas. The start of a new year means it's out with the old and in with the new at LEGO.com, as hundreds of LEGO sets slated to retire in 2022 have now sold out online and in-store. But as one last-minute door closes, another opens: and we now have a first list of every single LEGO set due to retire in 2023, so you can start planning and prioritising your purchases for the year ahead.
Last year saw some titans of the LEGO line-up make way for new stuff, including 75252 Imperial Star Destroyer, 71040 The Disney Castle and 42083 Bugatti Chiron. This year's retiring list includes similarly big names, from 75309 Republic Gunship to 21325 Medieval Blacksmith. There's still plenty of time to buy them for the moment, but December will be here before you know it...
Unless otherwise noted, every set below is expected to retire by December 31, 2023. That isn't a hard and fast date, and there's every chance that these sets could sell out as early as the summer. Remember too that these dates are subject to change, so check back with Brick Fanatics regularly for updates on retiring sets across each and every LEGO theme.
LEGO Star Wars
The remaining big guns from LEGO Star Wars in 2020 are due to leave shelves this year, including 75292 The Razor Crest and 75290 Mos Eisley Cantina.
Grab them while you can - along with two of the first three LEGO Star Wars dioramas. If there's such a thing as a guaranteed LEGO investment, it's early sets in a series. Just look at the aftermarket prices of 75274 TIE Fighter Pilot Helmet...

LEGO Ideas
One of LEGO Ideas' best sets yet is on the way out this year in 21325 Medieval Blacksmith, so don't wait around on that one if you don't have it already.
Bar 10305 Lion Knights' Castle, it's the biggest medieval LEGO set of all time, and certainly the most detailed. Elsewhere, the writing is already on the wall for 21337 Table Football - never a good sign.

Like 21337 Table Football, LEGO Marvel's 76215 Black Panther met with a mixed reception at launch, and has already been discounted at LEGO.com. That may explain why it's nestled among the 18 superhero sets currently slated to retire in 2023, which also includes the entire Black Panther: Wakanda Forever wave and 76209 Thor's Hammer, all of which launched in 2022.

LEGO Harry Potter
As with the Hogwarts Moments sets before them, the new House Banners will apparently have a very short shelf life, retiring within nine months of arriving in stores.
None of the four LEGO Harry Potter direct-to-consumer sets are due to retire in 2023, at least - but a couple of 2022's best sets, 76403 The Ministry of Magic and 76408 12 Grimmauld Place, will be gone by December.

LEGO NINJAGO
LEGO NINJAGO's retiring sets will leave shelves in two stages in 2023, so time is of the essence with the first batch - particularly 71738 Zane's Titan Mech Battle, which should pair very nicely with the newly-released 71785 Jay's Titan Mech. Later in the year, make a beeline for 71766 Lloyd's Legendary Dragon, one of the best NINJAGO dragons currently available.

It's slim pickings for LEGO DC fans at the moment, and two of the theme's remaining three sets won't make it beyond 2023 as things stand. The Batman's Batmobile is a surprisingly cool iteration of the Dark Knight's wheels, so don't miss out on 76181 Batmobile: The Penguin Chase.
LEGO Super Mario
Four LEGO Super Mario expansion sets are leaving the line-up by mid-summer, but more pressing is the imminent departure of the theme's first direct-to-consumer set, 71374 Nintendo Entertainment System.
Still unique in the LEGO portfolio (even with 10306 Atari 2600 now available) for its retro TV with scrolling screen, this is one LEGO Super Mario set everyone should own.

A total of seven LEGO Speed Champions sets are due to retire in 2023, including five that only launched in 2022 - among which are the first two movie-inspired cars in 76911 007 Aston Martin DB5 and 76912 Fast & Furious 1970 Dodge Charger R/T. Catch 'em while you can.
LEGO Collectible Minifigures
Each series of LEGO Collectible Minifigures is generally only available for a few months, after which time it's replaced by the next big thing.
History tells us the next batch will arrive on May 1, and 71037 Series 24's current retirement date supports that theory.

LEGO Jurassic World
Almost every LEGO Jurassic World set currently available is due to retire this year, including the sublime 18+ set 76956 T. rex Breakout.
More retro LEGO Jurassic Park sets are apparently on the way for the film's 30th anniversary this year, but don't sleep on the theme's first diorama.
LEGO Monkie Kid
One of the LEGO Group's most underrated themes will see nine sets leave shelves in 2023, among which are must-have sets like 80039 The Heavenly Realms and 80035 Monkie Kid's Galactic Explorer. With limited availability across the entire theme - you can really only buy these sets at LEGO.com - there's not much chance of a sale, so don't feel too bad about buying at RRP.
