Check out the new hot daily deals for today, including a 48" LG 4K OLED TV that's under £900 (one of the best gaming monitors on the market), an 8BitDo Pro 2 controller that's £30 cheaper than the Switch Pro controller and nearly as good, and a 1TB SSD that meets all the requirements for the PS5 console for under £100. These deals and more below.

48" LG C1 4K OLED Smart Gaming TV for £897

LG C1 48" 4K OLED Smart TV

42% off £1,499.99 17

£869.99 See on Amazon [1]

The 48" LG C1 OLED TV has dropped back down in price to £896.99.

That's £600 off MSRP and only £100 more than the best deal we saw on Amazon Prime Day. The C1 is classified as a TV, and it is, but it's also one of the best gaming monitors on the market. It's hundreds of dollars cheaper than the other highest end gaming monitors like the Samsung Neo G9 49" Mini LED[2] or the Alienware 34" QD-OLED[3] gaming monitor, and is arguably better.

It has HDMI 2.1 ports to support 4K @ 120Hz if you have a gaming PC equipped with an RTX 30 series GPU, PS5, or Xbox Series X, as well as variable refresh rate (VRR), G-SYNC, and ALLM. OLED panels have unrivalled response times, so ghosting is non-existent. Compared to traditional LED LCD TVs, OLED TVs offer better image quality, deeper blacks, better contrast ratio, and wider color gamut.

Not only does this translate to better gaming, but also better image quality overall, including with 4K HDR content.

8BitDo Pro 2 Bluetooth Controller for Nintendo Switch & PC

20% off £49.99

See on Amazon [4]

Save £10 on this well-rated controller for the Switch. The 8BitDo Pro 2 is the updated version of the very popular Pro+ model. It uses Bluetooth so it works with the Switch out of the box with no dongle required.

For almost half the price of a Switch Pro controller, it has a lot going for it. The SN30 Pro 2 supports button remapping, adjustable analog sticks, hair triggers, and macros. Unlike most other 3rd party controllers, this supports rumble (not HD rumble though).

There's even a handy little switch that lets you instantly change from Nintendo Switch to PC pairing. Of course the retro style also looks great. If you don't want to pony up £70 for the Switch Pro controller, this is easily the next best thing.

This is currently the least expensive PS5-compatible 1TB SSD, especially one that already has a preinstalled heatsink.

It boasts transfer speeds of up to 6,100MB/s, which is considerably faster than the PS5's recommended minimum of 5,500MB/s. The preinstalled heatsink is made out of aluminum and has a very thin profile so it won't get in the way of the PS5 cover properly closing.

Wingspan Board Game for £39.94

Daily Deals: 48

Wingspan is an incredibly good board game. So good in fact that we deemed it the best board game of 2019.

Improbably enough, the year's hottest game is one about keeping birds in a nature reserve. But the wide appeal of the theme, lovely art and simple rules meant lots of players got to enjoy the fiendish engine-building game beneath. A choice of a mere four actions blossoms into an excruciating balance between adding birds, feeding them and scoring points.

Yet tricky as it is, the pace of play leaves you itching for another try to evolve your strategies, while 170 bird cards ensure every game is different. The board game is worth it even at the £65 retail price, but today it's nearly 40% off.

Acer Predator Orion 3000 Intel Core i7-11700F RTX 3070 Gaming PC for £1459.99

This is a great price for a prebuilt gaming PC equipped with an RTX 3070 GPU. It's significantly more powerful than the RTX 3060 Ti or the RTX 2080 SUPER.

The RTX 3070 is the ideal card for 1440p gaming, even at high refresh rates. It's paired with an 11th gen Intel Core i7-11700F up to 4.9GHz 8-core processor, 16GB of RAM, and dual SSD and HDD storage. The case looks slick too, with a tempered glass side panel and plenty of RGB lighting.

That's in large part because of the incredible cooling potential of the massive 3-slot heatsink combined with the quietest triple fan cooling you'll find on any RTX 3080. Despite the low noise levels, the ROG STRIX offers a significantly OC'ed 1890-1935MHz boost clock compared to the stock 1710MHz boost on the 3080 FE.

Sony recently released its 2022 A90K OLED TV, catering specifically to PC and PS5 gamers. Today, Amazon has it dropped the price enough that this is a better deal than the equivalently sized LG C2 OLED models.

The A90K is only available in 42" and 48" sizes; they're meant for closer range viewing, like at your gaming desk or in a smaller space. Unlike most other TVs, the included stand is adjustable: it can be mounted nearly flush with the table surface, or it can be raised to perfectly fit a soundbar underneath. The A80J has a host of gaming-centric features like HDMI 2.1 for 4K @ 120Hz passthrough for PS5 and Xbox Series X gamers as well as 4:4:4 chroma subsampling for PC use, variable refresh rate (VRR), and ALLM.

There are also some PS5 exclusive features like Auto HDR Tone Mapping (similar to HGiG) and Auto Genre Picture Switch. The A90K uses LG's WOLED panel, so image quality should be similar to the LG OLED TVs.

Blue light is a melatonin suppressor, and the theory is that using your monitor at night suppresses your natural sleep cycle. If that's true, blue light filtering lenses should help you fall asleep better, even after an intense late night gaming session. The tinted polarized lenses work much like any regular pair of sunglasses; the polarized film provides 99% UVA/UVB protection and is designed to reduce glare and eliminate potential eye damage from the sun.
