Lego Back to The Future DeLorean model: How much is it and where can I buy it

Fans can officially travel back in time with Lego's 2022 Back to the Future DeLorean set. Lego has released mini Back to the Future DeLorean sets before, but this one blows those out of the water with its bigger, more detailed model. Now, fans can build Doc's iconic time-travelling car which whizzed Marty McFly through his past and future, leaving fans keen for a Lego Back to the Future film, in the style of the Lego Batman film.

In the meantime, adults can engage their childlike imagination with their own slice of movie magic. The classic car that Doc and Marty used to get back to 1985, complete with lightning conductor, can be rebuilt to look like the cars from the sequels. There's the flying car with foldable tires from Back to the Future Part II and a tray of 1950s electronics for the car that Marty took back to the Wild West.

How much is it and where can I buy it?

The Lego x Back to the Future DeLorean car will be available directly from Lego, online and in store, from Friday, April 1, 2022.

You may wish you could go back in time, because the set has been so popular that it is already sold out. People who managed to grab a back order in time will get theirs shipped on May 6. All is not lost, as you can still check the stock in your local stores.

Currently, the Watford store still has stock available - if that's too far, Lego will definitely be restocking in the near future.

It's not clear if this set is available to buy from the Legoland store just yet; to celebrate the launch, there's a special event in Lego's Leicester Square store in London, between 5pm and 6pm tonight (April 1).

If you can get down to London, Lego designer Sven Franic will be there to sign each set.
