More LEGO price rises are reportedly on the way in 2022

At least 12 more sets will apparently be facing price rises of up to 20% in 2022, as the LEGO Group seeks to make costs more consistent across Europe.

In addition to the list of 27 sets originally reported to be receiving price hikes next year, StoneWars claims the recommended retail prices for another dozen products will also be adjusted in 2022 - including several that are limited to specific retailers. According to a statement published by the LEGO Group in September, these price changes are being implemented to 'make RRP pricing more consistent across different countries [in Western Europe] from 2022', and that 'the final price charged to shoppers is set by retailers, not the LEGO Group'. Looking beyond that thinly-veiled attempt to wash its hands of any price hikes that might follow, it remains to be seen whether the LEGO Group's changes will actually lead to independent retailers raising shelf prices for consumers.

Perhaps more interesting to see - given that statement - will be whether the LEGO Group implements these changes through its own shopping channels (LEGO.com and LEGO Stores).
