Carrom (also spelt ‘caram’, ‘carom’ or ‘karom’) is a tabletop game that is similar in concept to snooker, billiards, air hockey and subbuteo. Carrom is played by flicking or propelling lightweight wooden discs/coins with your fingers. The goal is to flick and ‘pot’ them into one of the 4 netted corner pockets. The object of the game is to sink all of your carrom men – using the heavier ‘striker’ coin – before your opponent. It is a simple competitive game for all ages, combining physical dexterity and mental ability. 

The game of carrom is believed to have originated in India but is fast becoming a popular ‘board’ game for all ages across the world. It is even played at competition level.
